Vi started painting as a hobby while living in Columbus, Ohio where she studied under Joann Warnke, a well-known local Columbus artist who introduced her to abstract, cubism, and pointillism art. She also took a course on Still Life and Human Form at Columbus College of Art & Design and has exhibited her work at local settings in the Columbus area. Vi's art group was commissioned to paint an interpretation of a "mezza luna" which is a cutting tool used by chefs. The paintings were displayed on a wall of an upscale restaurant in downtown Columbus. (See photo in Vi's gallery.) Since moving to Florida at retirement, she continues to attend workshops. She has exhibited at local libraries and other venues. She works in acrylic and oils and prefers to paint Florida scenery including beaches and tropical birds. |
