She has studied with many known artists and is most proud of her workshops with Edgar A. Whitney.  He was her teacher of design and the basics of painting. Other workshops include Miles Batt, Tom Lynch, Carol Frye, Elizabeth Clement, and Charles Reid.

Lois is a member of the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Tarpon Springs Art Association, Creative Artists Guild, Crystal Beach Art Group, and the Florida Watercolor Society in addition to Studio 1212.
