Darla Willhite, MCT studied with PBS Television's Terry Madden and received certification as a watercolor instructor.  She teaches on Monday and Saturday at Michaels in New Port Richey.  She is a member of the West Pasco Art Guild in New Port Richey, FL and the Creative Artists Guild in Dunedin, FL.  She has painted in oils for 35 years and has taught for three years.  She paints floral, landscape and animals; but she is best known for her portraits of children.  She has won awards and had three one-woman shows locally.

When she tried watercolor, she fell in love with the medium, for it's beautiful flow and transparency, as well as vibrant colors. Clean up is easy and it is non-toxic!

Darla's art education consists of various community colleges in Michigan, Life Drawing (pastels) at Cranbrook Institute of Art, Farmington, MI, three years with Carol Rockwell, Master Miniature Artist, Springhill, FL (oil), one year with Diane Becker, Brooksville, FL for oil portraits, many workshops with Mary Carole (oil) and Gary Jenkins (oil) as well as Terry Madden (watercolor).
